A+E Conference
The first Art + Environment Conference was held in 2008 and was intended to “survey” the field of art and environments. For a detailed summary of the 2008 Conference, see the conference program: Download the program.

The second Art + Environment Conference takes place September 29—October 1, 2011. The Conference will pick up where the first left off, by exploring issues such as architecture, integrated art and gardens, and artists working with geography and topography. The Feature backdrop exhibition on view during the conference is The Altered Landscape curated by Ann M. Wolfe, the Museum’s Curator of Exhibitions and Collections. The exhibition commemorates the Museum’s 80th anniversary and celebrates the institution’s signature photography collection that examines human interaction and intervention with the environment. Also accompanying the Conference is an exhibition guest curated by Geoff Manaugh of BLDGBLOG titled Landscape 2.0, which will explore how human understanding and perception of landscape and place are mediated by evolving new media technologies.
Further information and registration for the 2011 Art + Environment Conference will be released in 2010.
