    Hands ON! Second Saturdays

    Saturday February 13, 2016 / 10 am – 6 pm

    Celebrate the Year of the Monkey 

    Themed around the Chinese Lunar New Year, participants will enjoy a Chinese Dance and Cultural Presentation by Xian Na “Sonia” Carlson and her group of traditional Chinese dancers. Themed art projects and storytelling will continue to explore Chinese traditions surrounding the New Year. All visitors will enjoy free admission all day.

    10 am – 4 pm | Monkey Masks Art Activity
    10 am – 4 pm | Dragon Parade Puppets Art Activity
    10:30 & 11 am | Children’s Storytelling with Kathleen Durham
    11 am | Film: Stone Soup and other Stories from the Asian Tradition
    1:00 pm | Public Tour (adult focus) – 2nd Floor 
    2 pm | Chinese Dance and Cultural Presentation by Xian Na “Sonia” Carlson
    2:30 & 3 pm | Children’s Storytelling with Kathleen Durham 

    Lead sponsorship for the Hands ON! program through 2024 is provided by the Robert S. and Dorothy J. Keyser Foundation with additional support from the Leonette Foundation, the Sato Foundation, Art4Moore and the City of Reno Arts & Culture Commission. Second Saturdays are sponsored exclusively by the Nightingale Family Foundation.

  • Group Tours

    Guided Tour – Saturday Afternoon

    Saturday February 13, 2016 / 1 – 2 pm

    Tour the featured exhibition with one of the Museum’s trained docents during a regularly scheduled Guided Tour offered Thursdays at 6 pm (except First Thursdays); Saturdays at 1 pm; and Sundays at 1 pm. Reservations are not needed. Free with admission.
