UNBUILT RENO Alternative Architectural Landscapes

UnBuilt Reno features a selection of architectural projects that were designed for the greater Truckee Meadows area, but for various reasons, were never constructed. The exhibition includes architectural drawings, sketches, and scaled models of residential, commercial, and public projects from the 1800s to the present-including previous proposals for various riverfront development projects and innovative designs for area residences. The architects and designers featured offer alternative visions of Reno that might have transpired had the projects actually been realized.

This exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Black Rock Design Institute (BRDI). Partial funding for this exhibition has been provided by a grant from the Nevada Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

This exhibition is presented as part of the NMA's Art + Environment exhibition series, an initiative that brings community, artists, and scholars together to explore the interaction between people and their environments.
