Guardian of Eden

Following its debut at this year's Burning Man festival, the NMA is pleased to present Guardian of Eden, a large-scale, outdoor sculpture by New York-based artist Kate Raudenbush. The intricately carved, 12-petal lotus flower spans over 19 feet in diameter and is inspired by Hindu and Egyptian creation myths, Buddhist symbolism, and the ancient symbol of the Flower of Life. The sculpture will be installed this fall in the Wilbur D. May Sculpture Plaza.

Guardian of Eden was commissioned by the Burning Man organization; the NMA thanks Burning Man for their support of this exhibition.
