Gifts of Art/Memorial Gifts

Tribute and Memorial Gifts

A Tribute or Memorial Gift to the Nevada Museum of Art is an especially meaningful way to recognize friends, family, business associates, and special occasions, while at the same time supporting the exhibitions, collections, and education programs of the Museum.

  • Tribute Gifts mark special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations. A Memorial Gift expresses your sympathy or remembrances of a loved one.
  • Your contribution is fully tax-deductible and will be acknowledged with a letter sent to the honored individual or family—without reference, of course, to the amount of the gift.

If you would like to speak with a Museum staff member about guaranteeing that your gift is directed towards a specific artwork purchase in honor or in memory of an individual, please contact the Advancement Department at 775.329.3333.

Gifts of Art

Do you have an artwork in your collection that you think may be appropriate for the Museum’s collection? Are you an artist or gallery owner who would like to donate an artwork to the Museum?

We are happy to consider your gift, but please remember that the Museum’s collection is focused on themes related to Art + Environment as featured in our collections. All artworks proposed to the Museum for its Collection must be approved by the Collections Committee, which considers issues of quality, appropriateness, and historical significance.

If your artwork is not the right fit for the Museum’s collection, it is still possible to donate the artwork to the Museum as a “gift of property,” which may have other tax benefits.

The first step involved in any Gift of Art is to send a digital snapshot and any information you have about the piece to a Curatorial Department staff member. For further information about how to donate art, please contact the Curatorial Department at 775.398.7259.
