Volunteers in Art (VIA)

Volunteerism is foundational to the Nevada Museum of Art. Beginning in 1931, a cadre of landscape painters known as the Latimer Art Club became the founding volunteer organization behind the Nevada Art Gallery – now the Nevada Museum of Art.

The Museum continues to benefit from this vision with a dedicated corps of volunteers called Volunteers in Art (VIA). From staffing the Shop and admissions desk to installation support and administrative assistance, VIA provides more than $125K of in-kind human resources each year. With over 100 volunteers ranging from docents to trustees, VIA works in support of the Museum’s continued advancement.
