    Kids’ Corner: Spring Things

    Wednesdays, April 5 - May 3 / 4 - 5:30 pm

    NOTE: The time of this class has been adjusted following the WCSD elimination of "early release" on Wednesdays. Class will now begin at 4 pm.

    Young artists will enjoy exploring a variety of painting and drawing techniques using dry and wet media this fun after-school series. Students will have the opportunity to explore the Museum’s exhibitions and sketch in the galleries to inspire their own works of art. All materials and a snack are included with registration.

    Art High: Ceramics – Hand Building and Wheel Throwing Techniques

    Saturdays, April 15 - May 20 / 9:30 am - noon

    Teens ages 13 - 18 will enjoy this six-week series designed to develop hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques while working in clay. Students will be introduced to basic techniques and skills will be encouraged think creatively while working towards their final project(s).

Students will get their hands dirty in the classroom early in the morning and then and will practice their drawing skills while exploring the Museum’s galleries.  A mid-morning snack and all materials are included with registration.
    *Students need to bring a cold-lunch and bottle of water.

    Kids ages 7 – 12 will have fun exploring the tactile nature of clay. Instruction will encompass basic hand building, throwing on the wheel, and sculpture. In this 5 day camp, students will learn about the basics of pottery, glazing and the transformation of their pieces from the heat of kiln. This will be a fun and educational class. All works will be fired in the Museums' kiln. Snack and materials are included.
