NOTE: CLASS MEETS MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS Using wood and fabric, students will explore design and principles in the creation of a simple clean furniture. Students will design and create a "Flat Pack Chair" utilizing interlocking slots, opposing forces and tension to build structural integrity. Students will also explore practical and exploratory design to create a simple "Cot" combining fabric and wood with considerations for weight distribution and function. Students only need to have beginning experience working with materials and must be willing to use hand and power tools. Educators: This class is available for 1.0 teacher in-service credit. Please check with the State of Nevada to see if credit may be applied to your area of licensure.
