Tuesday – Friday, June 12 – 15 / 9 am – 12 pm

Kids ages 8 – 12  will enjoy exploring design concepts as they work on both digital and handmade art projects. Campers will work through concepts by hand using paint, drawing materials and clay and then will apply those concepts which will then be realized as a digital design assets as they use (provided) iPad Pros.  Campers will enjoy finding inspiration in the galleries and will also have an opportunity to get their work moving with fun animation projects using the iPad Pros. A daily snack and all materials are included with registration.

Wednesday, June 27 / 1 – 4 pm 

Learn to take your hand drawn artwork into digital format in this introduction to Adobe Illustrator using an iPad Pro. In this class, students will learn best practices for drawing design elements by hand. Students will review best practices for documenting work for digital manipulation and will be introduced to the tools in Illustrator that can be used to create professional results while maintaining the hand rendered quality of their work. Students will also review contemporary applications for their final digital artwork. 

NOTE: iPad Pro and Illustrator software is will be provided for students to use during class time.

Wednesday, June 13 / 1 – 4 pm

Learn the basics of pattern design using an iPad Pro and the Procreate app! This class will give you a crash course in pattern design on an iPad, while teaching you how to build a seamlessly repeating pattern tile that can be uploaded to platforms like Spoonflower and Society6 to create one-of-a-kind custom products featuring your designs. Participants will brainstorm pattern ideas through digital sketching and will build repeating pattern tiles in an easy to follow, digital format.

NOTE: iPad Pro and Procreate software is will be provided for students to use during class time.

Saturday, May 19 / 9 am – 12 pm

Learn the basics of the Procreate app while using an iPad Pro. Students will use the provided iPad Pro and app to create pattern designs from original artwork. This class will provide an introduction to digital design on an iPad, while diving into the fundamentals of pattern design and development. Participants will brainstorm pattern ideas through sketching, mocking up pattern ideas, and building cohesive collections, all in a perfectly portable, digital format!
