Educators are invited to these FREE monthly informative roundtables incorporating and following the Educator Evenings. These Zoom discussions provide participants an opportunity to further discuss the presented topics as they relate to early childhood education.

Designed for families to enjoy together virtually, “Art Investigators” encourages inquiry and discussion about a selection of artworks on view at the Museum. Following an interactive discussion participants will be encouraged to create their own inspired masterpiece to share. 

This program will be hosted on Zoom. Registration is free and only one registration per family is required. Please register by 3 pm Friday, September 11. A Zoom link will be sent Friday evening.

This program will conclude with a fun hands on project you can complete at home. Please join us with and of the following supplies you have at home: paper, glue or glue sticks, colorful drawing materials. If you have collage materials (like wrapping paper or magazines) please bring that to the call.

Virtual Educator Evenings

Paul D. Miller, AKA DJ Spooky, is a composer, multimedia artist, and writer whose work pushes boundaries and bridges disciplines. Join us for an interactive discussion with Miller about his practice and learn how fractals inform music, art, and design.

Miller’s work is featured in the exhibition We Belong Here. This exhibition was organized in conjunction with the 2021 NV STEAM Conference, an annual statewide event in partnership with Desert Research Institute’s Science Alive program. Scheduled for early February 2021, the virtual conference explores ideas and strategies that incorporate Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math education into classroom practices to foster student creativity and innovation. 

Educator Evening is a FREE professional development series occurring every month (excluding January and July) offering state-approved professional development hours for participation.

Join us for a first peek and discussion on the exhibition We Belong Here.
