Center for Art + Environment

The Center for Art + Environment (CA+E) is an internationally recognized research center that supports the practice, study and awareness of creative interactions between people and their natural, built, and virtual environments.

The mission of the CA+E is threefold:

  • To encourage the creation of artworks expressing the interaction between people and their natural, built, and virtual environments
  • To convene artists, scholars, and communities to document, research, and analyze such artworks.
  • To increase public knowledge of these creative and scholarly endeavors.

The CA+E operates a Gallery space within the Museum, as well as a Research Library and Archive, and conducts public programs. The Center is in the early stages of planning a publications program and is raising funds to support small grants to artists and scholars.
