    Hands ON! Second Saturdays

    Saturday October 10, 2015 / 10 am – 6 pm

    DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS

    Celebrating the Mexican tradition of Día del los Muertos, participants will enjoy a cultural presentation, interactive performance, storytelling and hands-on art activities. Participants will be invited to contribute to a group altar honoring the souls of loved ones and will explore the Mexican tradition of papel picado.

    SCHEDULE
    10 am – 6 pm | Free Admission for all Visitors
    10 am – 4 pm | Calavera Skull Masks
    10 am – 4 pm | View and add to a community Altar
    10 am – 4 pm | Papel Picado
    10:30 & 11 am | Children’s Storytelling with Kathleen Durham
    1:00 pm | Performance: Aztec Dancing and Folklorico with Danza Azteca Aztlán 
    1:00 pm | Public Tour (adult focus) – 3rd Floor
    2:30 & 3 pm | Children’s Storytelling with Kathleen Durham
    2:30 – 4 pm | Film Screening: Book of Life

    Lead sponsorship for the Hands ON! program through 2024 is provided by the Robert S. and Dorothy J. Keyser Foundation with additional support from the Leonette Foundation, the Sato Foundation, Art4Moore and the City of Reno Arts & Culture Commission. Second Saturdays is sponsored exclusively by the Nightingale Family Foundation. Additional support for the Museum’s El Arte Initiative is provided by NV Energy.

  • Group Tours

    Guided Tour – Saturday Afternoon

    Saturday October 10, 2015 / 1 – 2 pm

    Tour the featured exhibition with one of the Museum’s trained docents during a regularly scheduled Guided Tour offered Thursdays at 6 pm (except First Thursdays); Saturdays at 1 pm; and Sundays at 1 pm. Reservations are not needed. Free with admission.
