    Guided Tour – Saturday Afternoon

    Tour the featured exhibition with one of the Museum’s trained docents during a regularly scheduled Guided Tour offered Thursdays at 6 pm (except First Thursdays); Saturdays at 1 pm; and Sundays at 1 pm. Reservations are not needed.

    Marian Goodell on the Films and Shorts of Burning Man

    Saturday September 16, 2017 / 1 – 3 pm

    Marian Goodell first attended Burning Man in 1995, and in 1997 co-founded Black Rock City, LLC. Marian developed Burning Man’s media policies and built its communications team. Today, as CEO of the nonprofit Burning Man Project, Marian oversees 100 employees and a $40 million operating budget in an effort to extend Burning Man’s culture into the wider world.  Join Marian for an afternoon exploring her favorite Burning Man films, shorts and documentary clips.

    Join us for Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl Keynote Event: An Evening with Adam Johnson. The evening features award-winning novelist Adam Johnson reading from his recent work. Johnson is the author of several books, including Fortune Smiles, and the novel The Orphan Master’s Son, which was awarded the 2013 Pulitzer Prize. There will be a question and answer session following the reading which will be moderated by Dr. Hugh Shapiro, associate professor of history at the University of Nevada, Reno.

    This event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required. NOTE: Pre-resgistration is now sold out.
