Summer Break Teen Camp: Creative Writing
Does your child dream of fantasy worlds, or love sharing tales of their experiences? Introduce them to creative writing through a hands-on summer camp workshop!
Students age 12 – 15 will get hands-on experience in trying out a variety of different creative writing styles ranging from non-fiction prose to sci-fi, fantasy, and poetry. This workshop is designed to encourage creativity and inspiration from every part of the world, and to introduce writing as a free-form art rather than a structured assignment. Students can learn about their own understanding of the world, as well as understand the perspectives of others through storytelling, reading, and authorship. All supplies and a mid-camp snack will be provided.

Summer Break Teen Camp: Figure Drawing
During this week-long camp, students will draw from a live (clothed) model each day. Working from life is one of the most effective ways to develop strong observational skills and gain confidence in accurately rendering the human figure. Throughout the week, participants will explore key concepts such as proportion and measurement, composition, and an understanding of three-dimensional form. Using charcoal as the primary medium, students will practice both short gesture drawings and longer, more sustained poses. All supplies and a mid-camp snack are provided.
Monday: Quick poses, gesture, rhythm and proportion
Tuesday: Quick poses, measuring, volume and balance
Wednesday: Mid-length poses, thumbnailing and composition

Students’ progress from initial concept brainstorming to final polished illustrations, experimenting with character traits, costumes, and storytelling in a supportive, collaborative environment. All materials provided and a mid-camp snack will be provided.
Day 1: Concept & Brainstorming – Introduction to character tropes, personality mapping, and exploring backstories.
Day 2: Anatomy & Proportions – Rough sketching, designing facial expressions, and gesture drawing for movement.
Day 3: Costume & Prop Design – Developing outfits, color palettes, and signature items that tell a story about the character’s life.
Day 4: Color & Rendering – Applying color techniques (digital or traditional) and adding shading for depth.
Day 5: Finalization – Polishing final designs and presenting work to the group

Summer Break Teen Camp: Intro to Sewing
Teens ages 12–15 will spend the week learning the art of sewing in a supportive, inspiring studio environment. This 5-day camp is designed for beginners and emerging makers who want to build confidence, learn foundational sewing skills, and create wearable pieces from start to finish.
Students will be guided through essential techniques—from understanding their sewing machine to constructing garments—while working on fun, hands-on projects they can feel proud of. By the end of the week, each student will have completed shorts, a zippered pouch and a drawstring bag. Students will also have the opportunity to learn and use an embroidery and surger machines. No prior knowledge or experience needed and all supplies and a mid camp snack are provided.
By the end of the week students will:
- Know how to use a sewing, embroidery and surger machines
- Understand basic sewing patterns
- Construct seams, hems and basic finishes
- Cut fabric accurately and confidently
