Summer Break Teen Art Camp: Introduction to Glass Art
Teens ages 12 – 18 will have fun exploring the various techniques and versatility of glass art. In this 5 day camp, students will explore the amazing world of kiln-formed glass art by utilizing clear and colored flat glass and recycled art glass. Additionally, students will learn torch and lamp working combining various tools and techniques. Learn more about the process of designing, cutting, melting, and kiln-forming the glass…then annealing your finished pieces. Students will walk away with art works in the form of suncatchers, coasters, jewelry, beads and small sculptures. A mid camp snack and all supplies provided.

Summer Art Camp: Introduction to Marbling
Kids ages 9-15 will learn about the fun and incredible techniques of marbling. Under the guidance of the instructor, students will begin by working and learning the basics of marbling by printing a marbled greeting card. As students become more confident with the medium, they will then marble paper, fabric for a journal cover, make a small journal and finally finish with marbling a baseball hat or two. All materials are provided along with a mid-camp snack.

Summer Break Camp: Intro to Painting
Learn the versatility of this multi faceted medium! Using color theory and form, this camp will focus on different styles and techniques of painting each day. Color mixing will be an important aspect during camp as well as awareness of composition. Students will create a different piece of art each day and will come away from camp with an understanding of how to construct a painting. All supplies and a mid-camp snack will be provided.

Kids ages 7 – 12 will have fun playing on the Museum’s iPad Pros as they work on story-boarding, character design and animation in this after school series. Students will also have an opportunity to explore and sketch using the iPads in the Museum’s galleries while looking for inspiration for their own work. A snack and all materials are included with registration.

Summer Break Art Camp: Intro to Printmaking
Contemporary block printing is an exciting, economical, and accessible alternative to traditional woodblock printmaking. Printmaking can be easily printed at home with little set-up. Each day students will learn a new style and technique of printmaking focusing on various tools and methods that can be applied in the medium of printmaking. Images and drawings will be supplied but students are welcome to bring in photographs, images from magazines, or drawings for inspiration. All other materials such as inks, paper, blocks, and carving tools are provided and included with your registration along with a snack mid-camp.

Summer Break Camp: Fun with Clay
Kids ages 7 – 12 will have fun exploring the tactile nature of clay. Instruction will encompass basic hand building, throwing on the wheel, and sculpture. In this 5 day camp, students will learn about the basics of pottery, glazing and the transformation of their pieces from the heat of kiln. This will be a fun and educational class. All works will be fired in the Museums’ kiln. Snack and materials are included.
