Spring Break Clay Camp: Fun with Clay

CANCELED: Kids ages 7 – 12 will have fun exploring the tactile nature of clay.  Instruction will encompass basic hand building, throwing on the wheel, and sculpture.  In this 5 day camp, students will learn about the basics of pottery, glazing and the transformation of their pieces from the heat of kiln. This will be a fun and educational class.  All works will be fired in the Museums’ kiln. Snack and materials are included.

Over this five-day camp, participants will have the opportunity to hand-build clay sculptures, paint mini-masterpieces and sketch in the Museum galleries. This class will feature special discussion on art inspired by nature. A daily snack and all materials are included with registration.

Kids of all ages will enjoy creating a variety of handmade holiday cards with their parents. Families will create cards together in this fun and messy holiday class. Class will be run as a two-hour open studio and families are encouraged to stay for as little or as long as they would like.

Young Artist Series: Digital Animation

Kids ages 11 and up will have fun playing on the Museum’s iPad Pros as they work on story-boarding, character design and animation in this after school series. Students will also have an opportunity to explore and sketch using the iPads in the Museum’s galleries while looking for inspiration for their own work. A snack and all materials are included with registration.
