Long pose figure drawing gives students the time to develop a drawing beyond a gesture, and focus on more accurate measurements, as well as taking a deeper dive into value. Feel free to bring in any drawing or painting mediums for this class. There will be materials in the classroom for students to use. This class runs like an open studio, and the instructor will be present to give as much or as little instruction as each student requests.  

*Note: There will be a 1 hour lunch break from 1 – 2 pm.

In this immersive class, students will take a deep dive into anatomy, proportion, and academic rendering techniques by working from a single, sustained pose held by a live model over 21 hours, spread across seven sessions. This extended format offers a rare opportunity to develop a long-form drawing entirely from life, allowing time to observe, refine, and fully realize the figure. We’ll break the drawing process into manageable stages—focusing on structure, form, and value—to build a stronger understanding of realistic rendering. Ideal for artists looking to strengthen their foundational skills and push their work to a higher level of finish.
