The Art of Collage
Collaging is the art of sticking various different materials such as photographs, pieces of paper or fabric on to a backing. In this class, students will learn about the aesthetics of collage, melding the ideas of reality and fiction as the instructor guides them through the process of creating their own piece using everyday materials.
Supplies are provided, but feel free to bring any materials you’d like to incorporate into your collage piece.

Take your painting practice “to the woods” with this class that blends painting and carving techniques to create unique artworks on a wooden canvas. In this beginner class, explore simple ways you can shape your art—creating negative space, texture and contouring— using a rotary tool. No previous woodworking experience required.

Expanding Creativity Through Multi-Mediums
This class explores the possibilities of self-expression through charcoal, watercolor, and acrylic. Through guided introspection and creative exploration, students will work to uncover the messages they wish to communicate through their art. Along the way, the fundamentals of each medium will be introduced and reinforced as participants progress toward creating full-scale, finished works. All supplies will be provided.

Do you have a vibrant acrylic or watercolor painting practice that feels like it has fallen flat? Explore the multiple dimensions behind your compositions by moving your medium from paper to wood. In this beginner class, add the sculptural element of depth to your piece by exploring simple ways you can shape your canvas using a Dremel tool. Under the guidance of the course instructor, you will learn to use simple techniques to create negative space and texture, adding relief(s) to your painting. You will learn—and experience—the myriad potentials for your artwork when you begin to add sculptural elements to your two-dimensional compositions. No previous woodworking experience required and all supplies are provided.
