In this class, students will explore how to paint various rocks and cliffs in watercolor. We will briefly explore how to mix your own grays and neutrals. Using wet in wet as well as wet on dry approach, lifting technique, and various approaches to generate texture, we will focus on several different types of rocks, including multiple variations of generic as well as local rocks/rock formations. 100% cotton paper is highly recommended for wet in wet approach.

In this class, students will learn how to render the human face as you study its anatomy, including bone structure, muscle tone and the relationship between facial features. Students will work with the instructor to learn and understand basic watercolor principles and techniques such as washes and shading to achieve a realistic likeness. Get ready to paint, mix, and create! In this fun-filled camp, young artists ages 7 – 11 will dive into the colorful world of painting and explore just how versatile this amazing medium can be. Each day, campers will discover a new painting style or technique—learning how to use color theory, shape, and composition to bring their ideas to life.

From mixing colors like a pro to mastering brushwork, kids will complete a unique artwork every day and gain a solid understanding of how to build a beautiful painting from start to finish. All supplies and a mid-camp snack will be provided.

In this class students will work from a live, nude model, and a single pose for the entire 4 hour session. Long pose figure drawing gives students the time to develop a drawing beyond a gesture, and focus on more accurate measurements, as well as taking a deeper dive into value. Feel free to bring in any drawing or painting mediums for this class. There will be materials in the classroom for students to use. This class runs like an open studio, and the instructor will be present to give as much or as little instruction as each student requests.
