Early Childhood Education Encounters

Educators are invited to these FREE monthly informative roundtables incorporating and following the Educator Evenings. These in-person discussions provide participants an opportunity to further discuss the presented topics as they relate to early childhood education.

Nevada Registry approved (1.5 hours for completing the Educator Evening and ECE Roundtable) or CEU credit hours are available.

Estelle J. Kelsey Foundation Hands ON! Second Saturdays offers monthly free admission, hands-on art activities, storytelling, a docent-guided tour, live performances, and community collaborations.  “Art Adventures” provides children the opportunity to engage with Museum staff and take a closer look at current work on view. New exhibitions, community collaborations, guest performances and monthly themes rotate in this engaging series of monthly programs. 

This month’s theme, “My Museum” is inspired by International Museum Day in the month of May.

This fun-filled community day offers free admission, hands-on art activities, a special rendition of ‘The Grinch’ and ‘The Nutcracker’ as well as storytelling, and docent-guided tours. Art Afternoon: Workshop and Social for Seniors

Seniors are invited to spend the afternoon at the Museum. Enjoy a guided tour and a studio art class. Monthly tours and projects are designed for participants of all levels of experience and offer an engaging and interactive experience. 

Senior Art Afternoon will be hosted in-person in the E.L. Cord Museum School. Advanced registration is required and space is limited. Monthly sessions are offered on the second Thursday and the second Friday of the month. Tour and project will be the same for the Thursday and Friday offerings, but change monthly.

Sponsored by CJ Christenson, with additional support provided by the Leonette Foundation Seniors and Art Endowment, and the City of Reno.
