Summer Break Camp: Intro to Painting
Learn the versatility of this multi faceted medium! Using color theory and form, this camp will focus on different styles and techniques of painting each day. Color mixing will be an important aspect during camp as well as awareness of composition. Students will create a different piece of art each day and will come away from camp with an understanding of how to construct a painting. All supplies and a mid-camp snack will be provided.

Teens ages 12 – 15 will have fun exploring the various techniques and versatility of glass art. In this 5 day camp, students will explore the amazing world of kiln-formed glass art by utilizing clear and colored flat glass and recycled art glass. Additionally, students will learn torch and lamp working combining various tools and techniques. Learn more about the process of designing, cutting, melting, and kiln-forming the glass…then annealing your finished pieces. Students will walk away with art works in the form of suncatchers, coasters, jewelry, beads and small sculptures. A mid camp snack and all supplies provided.

Photo Book Arts: Intro to Book Binding
Making a photo book is a great way to immortalize photos into a beautiful handmade object. We take hundreds of photos a year but rarely see them outside of a digital screen. In this class, students will learn basic bookbinding techniques to create a small handmade photo book of printed photos utilizing the drum leaf book structure that allows for each spread to open up completely and lay flat. All supplies are provide.
Students should come to class with 10-20 printed photos, printed on photo paper, all the same size and orientation (horizontal, vertical, or square), and no larger than 6″ on the longest dimension. If you don’t have your own photos printed, you’ll be able to make a blank book that you can add photos to later.

Hand Painted Decorative Eggs
Inspired by her Czechoslovakian heritage, instructor Iva Neveux will introduce students to basic painting techniques to create beautiful decorative eggs. Each student will create two hand-painted eggs using combinations of dots, lines, dashes and curves. All materials included with registration.

Life Drawing: Open Studio
Improve your life drawing skills and explore a variety of media while working freely from a nude model in this popular open studio class. The instructor will be present to coordinate class and offer instruction upon request. Both male and female models will be posed and drawn.

- Drawing board – 20”x 26” or larger (light-weight masonite works best)
- Newsprint pad – 18”x 24” – rough surface recommended
- Bull dog clamps or similar to attach pad to board
- Medium and Support Items:
- Vine charcoal, thin and fat pieces
- Choice of conte crayon, 6B graphite pencil or sticks, china marker, compressed charcoal, carbon pencils, or any suitable medium for drawing on newsprint
- Large kneaded eraser
- Pink pearl eraser
- Portable pencil sharpener or utility knife (best for soft/medium pencils)
- Clean small rags
- Sandpaper pad for sharpening drawing mediums
- Stumps for blending (optional)
Introduction to Screen Printing
This course is an introductory exploration of screen printing using paper stencils. Screen printing is a fast and easy way to create everything from fields of color to detailed and intricate designs – the possibilities are endless. In this course, students will learn about screen maintenance, printing process and how to care for printing tools and supplies. Participants will walk away from the course with an edition of their own multi-layered screen prints with one-of-a-kind designs.
