The Art of Mindful Writing: Letters
Writing can be a mindfulness practice; being mindful can enrich writing practice, too. Students in this workshop will explore both to deepen their writing experience through letter writing, which many feel is fast becoming a lost art. The workshop will include several mindfulness activities as well as writing insights and hacks, and participants will apply them to letter writing. Participants will leave the workshop with experiences, tools and reasons to mindfully write letters and more.
NOTE: This class will be held in the Redfield Learning Center on the 3rd floor for the Museum.

Clay: Earthworks
Create decorative and functional pottery in this six-week class designed for the beginner as well as those who have taken intermediate pottery classes in the past. Students will learn how to work with clay in both hand building, and wheel-throwing techniques. Finishing methods such as decorating, stamping, painting, and staining will be introduced as well as the discussion and practice of firing and glazing of clay works. Stoneware, B-Mix with Grog, Mighty White and Porcelain clay will be used as well as cone 6 and cone 06 glazes will be available. All firings will be done by the museum in an electric kiln. All materials are provided.

Summer Break Camp: Fun with Clay
Kids ages 7 – 11 will have fun exploring the tactile nature of clay. Instruction will encompass basic hand building, throwing on the wheel, and sculpture. In this 5 day camp, students will learn about the basics of pottery, glazing and the transformation of their pieces from the heat of kiln. This will be a fun and educational class. All works will be fired in the Museums’ kiln. Snack and materials are included.

From block printing and monoprints to stenciling and screen printing, students will explore a variety of techniques to bring their designs to life. They’ll learn how to transfer their artwork onto paper, fabric, and other surfaces, creating bold and expressive prints. Whether experimenting with textures or refining intricate patterns, teens will develop new skills and confidence in their artistic voice. By the end of camp, students will take home a unique portfolio of prints. All supplies and a mid-camp snack are provided.

Get ready to paint, mix, and create! In this fun-filled camp, young artists ages 7 – 11 will dive into the colorful world of painting and explore just how versatile this amazing medium can be. Each day, campers will discover a new painting style or technique—learning how to use color theory, shape, and composition to bring their ideas to life.
From mixing colors like a pro to mastering brushwork, kids will complete a unique artwork every day and gain a solid understanding of how to build a beautiful painting from start to finish. All supplies and a mid-camp snack will be provided.

Each day, campers will be inspired by contemporary and pop artists who’ve made their mark in these mediums—sparking imagination and encouraging creative confidence.
