Active Contemporaries members are invited to a pre-concert Whiskey Tasting at the home of Tyler and Julia Rogers on Marsh Avenue. Sample a variety of American whiskeys curated by Parker Stremmel, and small bites as a warm up to the Steep Canyon Rangers Concert at the Museum.

This whiskey tasting is exclusive to Contemporaries members and tickets are limited. Group will walk over to the Museum for the concert.

Channeling Andy Warhol’s Factory, the Museum’s newest membership level the Contemporaries presents an after-dark total takeover of the Museum School for a “Love the Loveless,” a pre-Valentine’s event. Don your finest leather and lace while you get your hands dirty screenprinting with Laika Press in the studio. Enjoy live art and shadow dancers, sneak away to the Warhol film-screening room, grab a secret message from the Addlers, or have your fortune unfold at a group tarot reading station. A DJ will set the mood and Calle Tacos will be onsite for some late night eats.

Members and Conference guests are invited to gather for the Members’ Premiere of the 2017 Art + Environment Season. Curators and artists are available for informal conversation as well as special roving and interactive surprises featuring the creative citizenry of Black Rock City. Live music by The Special 2.

Members are invited to participate in the live silkscreen artistry of Remixed Ink. Bring a t-shirt, jacket or vest and personalize it with a co-created piece of art. Stencils will include imagery of well-known works of art at Burning Man. From 6 to 7 pm,  artist Bruno Fazzolari will “scent” copies of the Museum’s newest book Unsettled with a bespoke, commissioned perfume of the same name.

Due to the “sold out” status of the Members Premiere and concert presented in the Nightingale Sky Room, we will be simulcasting the concert by the Steep Canyon Rangers into other spaces within the Museum.  Members may enjoy a preview of The Horse, purchase a drink, and enjoy the concert from a monitor or in the theater.  The Sky Room will be open to the membership once the concert ends (until 3 pm).
