Local educators are invited to this FREE special series on the first Wednesday of every month (excluding January and July). Join Charles N. Mathewson Senior Vice President, Education Marisa Cooper for a presentation, discussion and activity based on the Museum’s collections and current exhibitions as they relate to teaching and the Nevada Academic Content Standards.

A light reception will follow the presentation. Professional development hours are available for participating in the Educator Evenings. Certificates are issued in January and July.

This year, the NV STEAM Conference is where Art and Tech Collide. 

In 2020, we’re focusing on the T in STEAM, highlighting, celebrating, and critiquing the ways that artists and interdisciplinary practitioners are leveraging new and emerging technologies to change the way we see the world.  Art about technology, art made with technology and art made by technology all help us explore our human relationship to the increasingly digital and artificial world of the future.

Nevada Museum of Art in partnership with the Desert Research Institute’s Science Alive program, hosts the annual statewide conference to explore best practices in STEAM Education.

The NV STEAM Conference is the most important state-wide event for exploring ideas and strategies that incorporate Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math Education into pioneering classroom practices that foster student creativity through engaging, hands-on workshops and nationally recognized keynote speakers.
