Bookbinding: Caterpillar Stitch

Thursday, September 28 / 10:30 am – 4:30 pm

The caterpillar stitch is a unique decorative binding that is sewn continuously across the back cover, spine and front cover of a book. Students will create a sturdy yet ornately beautiful hardcover journal that combines both the Caterpillar and Coptic bookbinding structures. Detailed handouts will be provided. A great class for both beginner and intermediate bookbinding students.

Supply list: Pencil, ruler, Xacto knife, bone folder, bookbinding awl, 1/2″ glue brush, any decorative papers you’d like to use for book covers or endpapers
