2021 NV Steam Conference | Keynote, Workshops and Synthesis

The theme of the 2021 NV STEAM Conference is Design Thinking. The Conference will be presented virtually, beginning with a keynote on Wednesday, February 3, followed by an evening online gathering Friday, February 5. The additional keynote and all workshops will take place Saturday, February 6.

Design Thinking is a strategy used by artists, designers, and scientists alike. The “Design Thinking Process” (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test) is an approach that can be used across all disciplines and is critical to developing 21st-Century skills that translate from the classroom to the workforce.

A Nevada Museum of Art exhibition, We Belong Herewill support the themes of the NV STEAM Conference. Drawn from the Museum’s permanent collection with several key loans from contemporary artists, We Belong Here will highlight various ways that artists and scientists tackle difficult concepts to make the inaccessible, accessible, and the invisible, visible. Educators from across the state will be able to access the exhibition through a virtual walkthrough presented as part of the Conference.
