    Hands ON! Second Saturdays

    Saturday October 8, 2016 / 10 am – 6 pm

    Enjoy free admission, live performances, hands-on art activities and storytelling in this free monthly program for families.

    SCHEDULE 

    10 am – 6 pm | Free Admission for all Visitors 
    10 am – 4 pm | Art Project: Tissue Paper Flowers
    10 am – 4 pm | Art Project: Mini Piñatas
    10:30 & 11 am | Children’s Storytelling with Kathleen Durham
    11:30 am – 1:30 pm | “Family Fiesta” – Join Las Vegas based artist, Justin Favela and his family in a public celebration featuring his family’s celebratory traditions. Guests will enjoy live music, a taco buffet, a piñata on the rooftop of the Museum. Favela’s work is featured in the exhibition Tilting the Basin: Contemporary Art of Nevada.
    11:30 am | RPA Kids Mariachi Band performs live as part of “Family Fiesta”
    1:00 pm | Public Tour (adult focus) – 2nd Floor 
    2:30 & 3 pm | Children’s Storytelling with Kathleen Durham

Keyser Foundation with additional support from the Sato Foundation, U.S. Bank, Art4Moore and the City of Reno Arts & Culture Commission. Second Saturdays is sponsored exclusively by the Nightingale Family Foundation.

  • Special Events

    “Family Fiesta” with Visiting Artist, Justin Favela

    Saturday October 8, 2016 / 11:30 am – 1:30 pm

    Join Las Vegas based artist, Justin Favela and his family in a public celebration featuring his family’s traditions. Guests will enjoy live music performed by the RPA Youth Mariachi Band, a taco buffet, a piñata, cake and art activities in an interactive family-friendly party as part of Favela’s performance “Family Fiesta” on the rooftop of the Museum.

    Favela’s work is featured in the exhibition Tilting the Basin: Contemporary Art of Nevada.  Admission and all activities are free for this event and all day as part of the Museum’s Hands ON! on Second Saturday monthly program. 

  • Group Tours

    Guided Tour – Saturday Afternoon

    Saturday October 8, 2016 / 1 – 2 pm

    Tour the featured exhibition with one of the Museum’s trained docents during a regularly scheduled Guided Tour offered Thursdays at 6 pm (except First Thursdays); Saturdays at 1 pm; and Sundays at 1 pm. Reservations are not needed. Free with admission.
