Join us for a first look and discussion on Victorian Radicals: From the Pre-Raphaelites to the Arts & Crafts Movement. Ann M. Wolfe, Andrea and John C. Deane Family Senior Curator and Deputy Director, will be with us to discuss this exhibition that explores a revolutionary group of artists that pushed against industrialization during the second half of the nineteenth century.

Virtual Educator Evenings
Local educators are invited to this FREE special series on the first Wednesday of every month (excluding January and July). Educators will enjoy a presentation, discussion and activity based on the Museum’s collections and current exhibitions as they relate to teaching and the Nevada Academic Content Standards.
A light reception will follow the presentation. Professional development hours are available for participating in the Educator Evenings. Certificates are issued in January and July.

Virtual First Thursday: Monique De Haviland and the Motley Blues
In response to the health and safety guidelines for Covid-19, traditional First Thursday has been temporarily postponed. In the meantime, tune in for a special broadcast featuring music and interviews with Monique De Haviland and the Motley Blues, art introductions, and more fun. The program will premiere on the Museum’s Facebook page, where you can engage in a real-time conversation with fellow participants. The broadcast can also be accessed through our YouTube channel. Turning Pages: A Monthly Reading Group
In anticipation of this spring’s Victorian Radicals: From the Pre-Raphaelites to the Arts & Crafts Movement, escape into the era through Victorian literature. This month we’ll be concluding our discussion of Great Expectations by Charles Darwin.
Please note that we will discuss the second half of the novel during this program, hosted on Zoom. All participants registered for the first program will be automatically registered for this discussion. For registration support or questions, email christian.davies@nevadaart.org.
Turning Pages: A Monthly Reading Group – Introduction to Great Expectations
In anticipation of this spring’s Victorian Radicals: From the Pre-Raphaelites to the Arts & Crafts Movement, escape into the era through classic literature. From now through May, this new book club will meet monthly to discuss three different works of Victorian literature, beginning with Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.
This event is the first of two discussions about Great Expectations. We’ll be discussing the first half of the book, Charles Dickens and the Victorian Era. The second meeting will take place on January 12th.
In February and March, Turning Pages will read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë followed by North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell in April and May.

“Hands ON! at Home” brings our Art Investigators program to you! Designed for families to enjoy together virtually, “Art Investigators” encourages inquiry and discussion about a selection of artworks on view at the Museum. Following an interactive discussion participants will be encouraged to create their own inspired masterpiece to share.
This program will be hosted on Zoom. Registration is free and only one registration per family is required. Please register by 3 pm Friday, December 11. A Zoom link will be sent Friday evening.
