Educator Evening: Integrating Math and Art in the Classroom

Join Megan Bellister, Nell J. Redfield Curator of Learning and Engagement, for a presentation and discussion with educators about the installation Rachel Hayes: Someday When We’re Dreaming and Nevada Academic Content Standards for math. Learn about concrete and abstract math concepts and how to integrate them into classroom practice using visual art and quilts. Presentation followed by a wine reception.
 
Educator Evenings at the Nevada Museum of Art offer professional learning opportunities for teachers to connect the Museum’s collections and exhibitions with interdisciplinary art education, aligning with Nevada Academic Content Standards. Through interdisciplinary art education programming, Educator Evenings facilitate dialogue, collaboration among peers, and inspire innovative lesson plans. Registration is FREE. These offerings provide state-approved professional development hours for participation.
