
Costumed Figure In Any Medium

In this weekly costumed figure drawing class students will be exploring the clothed figure. Students will focus on creating a narrative with themed costumes, dramatic lighting and props. You will learn how to connect clothing to the underlying form, efficiently, in both short and long poses. All drawing media will be welcomed for this class and there are supplies in the classroom for students to experiment with.

- DRAWING:
- 18×24″ drawing, sketching, toned or newsprint pad
- vine charcoal
- compressed charcoal
- HB, 2b, 4b, 6b charcoal pencil
- PAINTING:
- 18×24″ US Art Supply Canvas Pad (can be found on Amazon)
- Long handle flat brushes, various sizes
- Turpenoid odorless mineral spirits
- Pallet or pallet paper
- Roll of blue shop paper towels
- Suggested oil paints:
- Lamp black
- Titanium white
- Alizarin Crimson
- Ultramarine Blue
- Olive Green
- Yellow ochre
