Form and Function: A Ceramic Exploration
2 - 5 pm
Explore the relationship between form and function in this hands-on ceramics class. Through guided projects, students will create functional pieces while considering how proportion, balance, texture, and surface influence an object’s use and visual impact.
Students will develop hand-building and throwing skills, experiment with construction and surface-design techniques, and explore individual approaches to form. The class emphasizes creativity, thoughtful making, and personal expression while examining how functional objects can become works of art.
All skill levels are welcome. Whether new to ceramics or building on existing experience, students will have the opportunity to experiment and rethink the everyday objects they create and use. All supplies provided.
