9 am – noon

Create five or more beads in this three hour intensive introductory glass blowing course taught by Mantra Glass Art. You will explore the beautiful world of boroscillicate glass utilizing clear, colored rod and color changing rods. Learn more about the process of melting glass and annealing your finished pieces in our kilns! All clear glass and color glass is provided with the cost of the class.

Students will focus on:

1. Turning their torches on and operating neutral, oxidized and reduced flame techniques. Safety and material practices are covered.

2. Learn how to wrap mandrils with glass to create beautiful bead forms while exploring dot, raked patterns and more!

3. Students will have open studio time for two hours to create their own work after learning the basics.
