Trees in Watercolor I
4 - 8 pm
Join this class to learn how to paint a variety of trees in watercolor. Students will begin with a brief exploration of how to mix your own greens. Using both wet in wet and wet on dry techniques, along with the lifting method, you will focus on painting a range of trees, including various types of coniferous and deciduous trees. Students will practice painting trees in perspective—from distant trees to those in the middle ground, as well as more detailed trees in the foreground. You will also work on painting individual trees and groups of trees in natural settings.
For best results, especially when using the wet in wet technique, 100% cotton watercolor paper is highly recommended.
