The Scholastic Art Awards

The Museum invites middle and high school students in Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey, Washoe, and White Pine counties to compete for local, regional, and national scholarships and recognition through the Scholastic Art Awards.

More than 2,400 submissions are received annually, and award-winning student artwork is shown in a month-long exhibition celebrating the achievements of our young artists. More than $6,000 in scholarship funds are distributed at the Awards Ceremony, attended by more than 600 students, family members, and educators from across Northern Nevada. Students receiving the Gold Key award go onto to compete at a national level. These Gold Medalists are invited to an award ceremony at Carnegie Hall and an exhibition of their artwork at Parsons School of Design and the Pratt Institute in New York.
